After finishing a workout at the gym, I sometimes do a few front split stretches and backbends. Every time I do them, I feel the energy and blood flow in my body become more fluid, and I instantly feel looser and more flexible. I actually started practicing these movements when I was a kid. I didn’t have much muscle back then, but my body was naturally very flexible, so I trained on my own. I would often watch dance and martial arts scenes in movies and try to copy the moves. That’s how I developed a strong sense of balance and coordination. Every time I stretch like this, it feels like my body goes back to its teenage state. Maybe that’s part of the reason why I’ve never had a hunched back—I regularly do backbends to keep my posture strong and my spine open.
